FocusScene Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 26, 2026

Webspace IN Private Limited ("we," "us," or "our") built FocusScene as a scene-based focus and app-blocking orchestrator for macOS. This policy describes exactly what FocusScene stores, what it never accesses, and how the optional sync add-on works.

The short version

FocusScene runs entirely on your Mac. Your scenes, schedules, and session history are stored locally in this app's own sandboxed application data folder -- never on a FocusScene-operated server, because there is no FocusScene-operated server. We do not use analytics or tracking of any kind. The only things FocusScene ever sends anywhere are (1) a check with Apple's App Store to confirm a purchase or subscription, and (2), only if you subscribe to the optional Unlimited Scenes & Cross-Device Sync add-on, a snapshot of your scenes/schedules/session history written into your own iCloud Drive.

FocusScene does not block websites or access your browsing activity

This is important enough to say plainly and first: FocusScene has no network-level or website-blocking capability of any kind. It never inspects, filters, or transmits your browsing history, DNS traffic, or any website content. It only orchestrates macOS applications on your own Mac (hiding or quitting apps you've chosen, for a scene you started).

What is stored, and where

Automation permissions

App blocking (hiding or quitting apps you've selected) and the optional Focus-mode handoff both use macOS's own Apple Events automation, which prompts you for permission the first time FocusScene controls another named app or runs a Shortcut. FocusScene only ever acts on the specific apps and Shortcuts you've configured in a scene -- it does not enumerate or monitor any other app's data.

Unlimited Scenes & Cross-Device Sync (optional, subscription-only)

If -- and only if -- you subscribe to this add-on, FocusScene writes a snapshot of your scenes, schedules, and session history into this app's own iCloud Drive container on your Mac. From that point on, Apple's own iCloud service is what replicates that file to your other Macs -- the same way iCloud Drive syncs any other file you keep in it.

Purchases and the sync subscription

The one-time unlock and the optional sync subscription are both handled entirely by Apple through the App Store's standard in-app purchase system (StoreKit). FocusScene asks Apple whether you own the unlock or have an active subscription and receives a yes/no answer; we do not receive or store your payment information, which is handled exclusively by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy.

What FocusScene does not do

Children's privacy

FocusScene is a general-purpose productivity utility for Mac users and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because we do not collect data from anyone at all.

Changes to this policy

If FocusScene's data practices ever change, we will update this policy and revise the effective date above.
